Overview
As part of HR team, the Human Resources Generalist will support the Clubβs overall strategy by ensuring HR policies and procedures fit the needs and goals of the organization and leadership. This position will provide a wide variety of services for the Human Resources Department with an emphasis in the areas of recruitment, training, employee relations, and facilitating workplace culture.
Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit, interview, and recommend candidates to fill vacant positions. Administer the hiring process, including preparing job descriptions, obtaining management approvals for positions, posting as necessary, conducting background/reference checks, and preparing offer letters.
- Manage onboarding for new hires, promotions and job changes within an assigned group.
- Serve as initial point of contact for employee relations issues; investigate and resolve employee issues on a timely basis; coordinate investigations with supervisors as needed; Notify Assistant Director β HR of all employee relations issues and assist in carrying out any employee relations initiatives.
- Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Support the coordination and execution of culture and employee recognition initiatives.
- Support employee communication channels (i.e. newsletters and videoboards).
- Support the maintenance of accurate, up-to-date human resource information system (Workday) and paper records of transactions needed throughout the employee life cycle.
- Monitor the Human Resource Department email inbox and respond to inquiries, verifications of employment, and unemployment inquiries.
- Oversee audits for form I-9, background checks, and onboarding. Maintain systems to reflect accurate users.
- Oversee unemployment insurance requests and new hire reporting.
- Provide overall support to the HR Department which may include: facilitating training, new hire orientation, management of learning platforms, answering in-person, phone and email inquiries, and representing HR in various capacities.
The ideal candidate will have two to four years of related experience in Human Resources, as well proven work experience in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment; strong organizational skills with the ability to independently set priorities and manage multiple assignments; and excellent interpersonal skills.
