Summary

Primary duty is to oversee the acceptance and delivery of packages throughout Nationwide Arena. Under the oversight of the Security Operations Center, ensure the safety, security and a positive experience for our Guests, Contractors, and Employees of Nationwide Arena. Uphold department and organization policies for Nationwide Arena, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Delaware North Sportservice in a positive and professional manner.

This is a Part Time First Shift position requiring coverage over the hours of 7:00am to 3:00pm, covering up to (30) hours and (3) to (5) weekdays during a standard week. Hours and days worked may vary on occasion based on venue need at the discretion of the Security & Emergency Services Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversee the acceptance and delivery of packages throughout the building. This includes following up with Partners regarding their packages, troubleshooting package acceptance and delivery as required and serving as an overall resource for impacted parties.
Reviews all communication associated with package delivery and ensures documentation for packages received, including shipping labels and bills of lading when applicable, align with internal communication.
Demonstrate experience with package tracking websites and/or software desired.
The candidate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and move shipments of 50 pounds or more.
Proven familiarity with package handling equipment including but not limited to pallets, plastic wrap, hand carts and pallet jacks.
Fork lift operation certified desired but not required.
Uncrate large shipments when required and properly dispose or store containers and packaging.
Ensure dock and all back of house areas remain orderly and clear whenever possible from packages received.
Coordinate large shipments within the building to the dock areas.
Work in an environment which requires alertness at all times, ensuring a safe environment is maintained.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities or direct reports. The candidate understands that serving as a positive role model for all those within Columbus Blue Jackets Arena Management and the Columbus Blue Jackets as well as with on-site corporate Partners and vendors is always expected.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); experience with the acceptance and delivery of packages in a large venue; current or previous experience working in a position which requires alertness at all times with exemplary results; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license required.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as experience with package tracking websites and/or software.
