Overview

The Premium Sales Intern will primarily assist the Premium Sales staff with the cultivation and fulfillment of sales within premium seating space for the Corporate Partnerships department. The intern will assist with projects in the office, in addition to various departmental/partner events.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Assist the Premium Sales team with daily tasks
  • Research key corporate partnership prospects and assist with designated sales tasks for new business and renewals
  • Assist in organizing and executing Corporate Partnerships events and off-site partner events (viewing parties, all team event, mascot appearances, etc.)
  • Maintain awareness of premium/market trends and knowledge relative to what Columbus Blue Jackets corporate partners and their like competitors are executing in other markets and/or professional leagues
  • Use Archtics ticketing platform for Premium inventory management and various reports
  • Use CRM for client database upkeep
  • Attend and participate in weekly departmental sales and service meetings
  • Attend and participate in various meetings internally with staff and other departments


Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize practices, processes to drive premium and sponsorship revenue that are employed by an NHL Corporate Partnerships department
  • Develop knowledge, communication, and process management skills in the area of Premium Sales and Premium Services

Intern Benefits:

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in four-year college or university, working towards a bachelor's degree in business, marketing or sport management
  • Must receive college credit for internship
  • Eager to learn the business of sports and ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to work well independently within a team and results oriented environment
  • Desire to take on a variety of projects and continually learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to intern non-traditional hours; weeknights, weekends and holidays
