Chicago Fire Football Club is a Major League Soccer team that was founded in 1997 and is Chicago’s ambassador to the global sport of soccer. The Club recently returned to Soldier Field as well as opened a new 50,000 square foot office in the heart of the city. With tremendous growth and expansion, the Club is laying the foundation for an audacious and ambitious vision that will transform the brand and the success of the Club in the coming years.

Position Overview:

The Chicago Fire Football Club is a dynamic and innovative professional sports organization dedicated to delivering unparalleled experiences to our fans and clients. As a key player in the sports and entertainment industry, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Event Specialist. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the Director, Events Services in delivering exceptional events for both internal departments and external clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of a wide range of events, including but not limited to corporate meetings, sponsor activations, and fan engagement activities
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of events
  • Manage a holistic calendar of upcoming events and update as needed
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external clients, vendors, and partners during events
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including venue setup, catering, audio-visual requirements, and other essential elements
  • Liaison with the Operations teams to ensure smooth event operations
  • Provide administrative support to the Director, Events Services, including calendar management, scheduling, and documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and proposals related to event services
  • Provide clear and timely communication to internal stakeholders and external clients regarding event details, timelines, and expectations
  • Draft and distribute event timelines, notes, and other relevant documents
  • Anticipate and proactively address potential challenges during events to ensure a positive and seamless experience for all attendees
  • Work collaboratively with the team to troubleshoot and find solutions in real-time
  • Assist in budget tracking and management for events, ensuring that expenses align with allocated budgets
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of events


Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in event planning or coordination
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home matches (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, performance-driven work environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and use excellent judgment
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to meet firm deadlines
  • Passion for creating memorable experiences for customers and promoting the organization's brand

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field
  • Previous experience in the sports or entertainment industry
