The Atlanta Braves are seeking a Senior Leader of Investor Relations to serve as a liaison between senior executive management, and the investment community and its influencers ensuring fair dissemination of all financial and strategic information critical to an investment in Atlanta Braves Holdings, and ensuring management is continuously aware of potential areas of investor concerns and questions.

The individual must have outstanding strategic thinking skills, a deep knowledge of the Company’s business model and financial performance, and high impact communication and relationship building skills. The individual must understand the workings of the financial markets well as the unique landscape of sports and entertainment, and be able to immerse themselves quickly in various issues impacting our business. He or she must also analyze and devise new communications strategies and responses to difficult issues and be able to quickly advocate the Company’s position to senior management and all external stakeholders and their influencers.

Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; CPA, CFA or MBA preferred
  • At least 15 years in investor relations, financial servicesexperience leading the Investor Relations function preferred
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or hospitality

  • Acts quickly in times of crisis or opportunity by quickly assimilating financial data, analysis and current perceptions into a practicable recommendation and action plan for senior management.
  • Utilizes research and practical thinking to advocate positions to senior management regarding impact on stock price of communications. Able to synthesize financial data quickly for senior management and provide strategic insights quickly, when called upon by various constituencies.
  • Highly strategic individual with a track record for understanding business implications and communicating in business terms. Ability to collaborate with the senior leadership as a strategic "thought partner", shaping investor communications to reflect the Company's strategic and financial priorities.

Technical Skills - The following is a list of the top Technical Skills needed for the job.

  • Financial Markets: Expert knowledge and experience in what motivates financial analysts and investors, the type of financial and strategy information they require to do their job, and which communications tools are the most effective to reach them. Includes knowledge of the dynamics of equity and bond instruments in the global markets.
  • Shareholder Relations: Deep knowledge of the workings of the investment community and its influencers and ability to understand, explain and project portfolio management issues.
  • Financial Disclosure: Extensive knowledge of securities laws and regulations (e.g., Regulation FD) that govern a company's financial communication and disclosure with outside stakeholders (e.g., investors, sell-side analysts, individual shareholders).
  • Independent Point of View: Knowledge of the external environment in which the Company's business is conducted. Includes ability to offer a broad perspective that extends beyond a particular functional discipline (e.g., marketing, finance) and draw upon knowledge that comes from frequent interaction with different functions, employees, research and analysis, and sources and constituencies outside of the Company.
  • Spokesperson: Ability to represent the senior members of the Company’s strategic and financial viewpoints effectively to our core institutional investors, and key influencers including sell-side analysts and top financial media professionals. Includes ability to quickly communicate very complex financial issues transparently, clearly, and without jargon.
  • Advocating/Counseling Sr. Management: Ability to counsel and advocate positions to senior management on complex financial and strategic issues.
  • Project and Event Management: Ability to manage large scale projects and events (e.g., investor days, management to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria) to establish clear goals and accountabilities. Also includes the ability to develop project plans, collaborate with external and internal teams, allocate and manage resources, identify potential issues/risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Specialized Writing Skills: Extensive ability to write, quickly, across a swathe of specialized writing styles (e.g., speeches, press releases, board materials, annual reports, shareholder letters, web content, position papers and presentations). Ability to communicate complex topics effectively within required style.
