The Role


We are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) team in Highbury House. The ESG team is responsible for developing, planning, influencing and executing the ESG strategy, focussed on sustainability, equality, diversity and inclusion and operational governance.

You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with current occupational health & safety legislation and you will proactively provide support to the Health and Safety Manager by developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety systems across our club.

Your day-to-day


  • Collaborate with the wider team - you'll provide administrative support to the Health and Safety Manager
  • Provide guidance and direction to key colleagues - you will collaborate with safety committees, fire marshalls and first aiders and ensure our club is aware of them
  • Act as a trusted advisor - you'll provide much needed guidance and advice in site health and safety meetings and assist with site safety tours and inspections
  • Organise critical projects - you will be instrumental in booking venues and arranging materials and resources for health and safety training projects
  • Analyse and evaluate accidents - you'll carry out detailed investigations and advise of controls to prevent reoccurrence
  • Champion a safe working environment - you will complete risk and work station assessments for all activities and locations across our club
  • Partner with wider event stakeholders - you'll liaise with catering, cleaning and maintenance contractors to ensure all club events are in compliance with legislation and policies

What we are looking for


  • Qualified expert - you hold NEBOSH NGC level 3 or are working towards it
  • Background in health and safety - you've got experience in operational occupational health and safety and have previously carried out risk assessments
  • Excellent communicator and teamplayer - you passionately collaborate with colleagues across a number of different departments
  • External stakeholder management skills - you're comfortable working with external companies and enforcement agencies
  • Trusted expert - you're well versed in communication in a diplomatic manner and influencing stakeholders
  • Proactive mindset - you are always looking for problems to solve and are able to act on your own initiative
