Position Description
The Director of Content Distribution and New Media will oversee our content distribution strategy across all digital and media platforms, lead new business relationships, explore opportunities on emerging platforms and manage negotiations and strategic transactions on behalf of U.S. Soccer. This person will oversee our existing footage licensing business, as well as help identify and pursue new opportunities to distribute U.S. Soccer content across new platforms. The Director will also lead the management of new premium content creation opportunities and help expand the reach of the U.S. Soccer brand via great story-telling opportunities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and executing a content distribution and footage licensing strategy, along with key departments in the organization.
Drive revenue generation through oversight of rights availability of content licensing for partners and asset monetization opportunities.
Oversee relationship with footage licensing partner, including management of footage licensing guidelines, guidance on rate cards, request approvals, reporting and invoicing.
Manage internal stakeholders and processes, gather internal feedback and approvals.
Partner with Marketing and Content teams to align on yearly content plans and content distribution strategy.
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to increase revenue via content distribution.
Oversee opportunities for new premium content and help expand the reach of the U.S. Soccer brand via great story-telling opportunities.
Oversight and management of partnership deliverables across distribution partners agreements.
Work with Product and Content teams to define processes and create efficiencies to deliver relevant content to partners.
Work closely with Legal team to develop new business relationships, structure deals, improve efficiency and negotiate all deal renewals.
Deliver recaps for ongoing partnerships and revenue reporting for all content distribution and licensing.
Identify media trends, emerging platforms and recommend new business strategies as a part of playing an active role in department strategic planning.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 8-year experience in media rights licensing in sports or media organization
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow
Ability to develop relationships with senior-level marketing executives
Experience in presenting to senior leadership and teams
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed
Able and willing to travel up to 25% of the time to U.S. Soccer controlled matches and other events as needed
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience in sports and working with high profile athletes, coaches and teams
Builds relationships through genuine interpersonal skills
Experience in content distribution and digital media partnerships
Deep understanding of the ever-evolving sports marketing and media landscape
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple concurrent events through multi-tasking and prioritizing efficiently
Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
Bilingual (English and Spanish) – able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently preferred
