Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Social Creative Specialist to join our Digital team. Under general direction and supervision of our Digital Content Manager, you will create and execute social media content and programs for Toronto Raptors and Raptors 905, including managing the content calendar, and monitoring content performance and effectiveness. You will engage with fans using the appropriate brand voice on a day-to-day basis, while covering live events and providing the latest news and updates surrounding the Toronto Raptors.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, create and produce engaging content for social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Snap and Threads, with the goal of increasing audience engagement and reaching new fans

  • Cover our games and live events, providing real-time content across owned social media platforms, including support with photo and video content using various multimedia equipment from iPhones to DSLR cameras.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to implement marketing programs across our platforms, ensuring strategy, persona, tone of voice, and point of view for the Toronto Raptors is maintained

  • Coordinate with Global Partnerships and Media Integration team on executing partner-led campaigns across our channels

  • Monitor campaign performance, track key metrics, agt6nd provide regular reports on the effectiveness of our social handles to the Digital Content Manager, including providing insight and understanding into results.

  • Closely monitor all social media activity relating to all things NBA, including trends, other teams, player news, and basketball related storylines

  • Develop real-time, culturally relevant and innovative content from ideation through to execution and post campaign analysis.

  • Identify new content opportunities and explore ways to produce new content.

  • Participate in priority projects and gain the opportunity to develop project management and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Media, Communications, Journalism or Marketing is an asset

  • Proven experience with community engagement through social media/digital marketing, with sports, entertainment or live event experience preferred

  • Highly proficiency in social media platforms front and back end (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube), and consumer social media behavior and emerging trends

  • Thorough understanding of where the social landscape is developing, with a desire to lead on emerging platforms

  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics

  • Refined visual eye in graphic design and video editing tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro; mobile photo and video is a great asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrate the ability to write creative content for blogs and social media

  • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to translate brand personality into assets, copy and design

  • Strategic thinker, able to parlay social content ideas to other platforms and vice versa

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Creative, goal oriented, self-motivated with a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion when privy to sensitive information

  • Self-directed and able to operate with autonomy, while also acting as a key member of a dynamic, collaborative content team

  • Possesses the communication skills and professional maturity to interact with people at all levels and in various functions

  • Passionate about basketball and/or about the Toronto Raptors, with a thorough understanding of the sport and the team

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including traveling for games
