JOB SUMMARY: The Manager, Baseball Communications will support all aspects of the Texas Rangers communications efforts, primarily assisting with baseball-related duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Assist in the writing, layout, and design of all department-related publications, including media guide and postseason media guide.
Manage team PR responsibilities and serve as team liaison on select road trips.
Contribute to research efforts and information on team and its players for daily game notes and press releases.
Lead in management of daily credential process, including requests, approvals and printing.
Assist in the daily media operations during spring training.
Assist with distribution of team news and research on department X (Twitter) account.
Contribute to portions of game program.
Manage requests for information from media and the general public.
Assist in the game day management of the writing press and broadcast levels at Globe Life Field.
Assistance with miscellaneous communications and media projects and events, including press conferences.
Assist in the training and management of the department’s intern.
Assist visiting team PR representatives with various gameday items.
Help with day-to-day updates Communications Box Site.
Assistance in other areas of the Communications department as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree required.
Previous Communications experience with professional sports team or collegiate athletic program required.
Strong working knowledge of baseball and various statistical research tools.
Must be available to work nights and weekends and to travel as game and event duties require.
Ability to travel 10% of job.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
Proficient in Microsoft software and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
Must maintain a professional appearance.
