Video Production Assistant

TITLE: PT Video Production Assistant

POSITION TYPE: Part Time, Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $17 per hour

Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Position Overview

The Video Production Assistant will have the opportunity to learn about the Sharks Production Department in a real-time environment. The primary focus of this position will center on the basics of video production including but not limited to filming, editing and presentation of video and graphics. There will be additional opportunities for digital content production and creation as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production of video features and content at all levels of the production process including pre, production, and post for all SSE platforms
  • Assisting staff with filming and editing all content captures on and off the ice
  • Archiving and logging video footage of pre game, gameday, and post game footage and interviews
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the graphic needs throughout the production process
  • Contribute in developing and occasionally fulfilling original content ideas

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in college, or a college graduate.
  • Educational concentration in video production, journalism, marketing or related field preferred
  • Classroom or hands-on experience with operating cameras, lighting systems, editing systems (non-linear systems like Final Cut or Adobe Premiere), audio, scripting, etc.
  • General knowledge of hockey and the sports and entertainment industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to operate computer and audio/ video equipment, lift up to 20 pounds, perform tasks involving visual and audible components and ability to navigate event venue, including stairs
  • Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week. With advance notice, this position will likely require you to work hours that are outside of SSE’s typical office hours (i.e. 9-5) including nights and weekends based on event schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
