We are looking for Parks & Grounds Operations Associate to join our family!

This position is responsible for providing support for, and assistance with operational needs of the Parks and Grounds of The ROCK at La Cantera. The ROCK is a campus that will include the Victory Capital Performance Center, which is home to the San Antonio Spurs, a Community Events Plaza, A 22 Acre Park, and 400,000 SF. of restaurant, retail, office, and medical spaces.

This role will be required to interact with the public daily. This position will be part of a team that’s focus is to ensure all 44 acres of grounds are appropriately kept providing a pleasant atmosphere for public enjoyment. The Parks & Grounds Operations Associate will be required to work with and provide guidance to contracted partners as it relates to repairs and recurring maintenance.

This Position reports to the Associate Manager of Parks & Campus Grounds. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to multitask and assist with maintenance supply inventory processes. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to balance daily operational needs, communicate effectively, and serve in a support role for event planning on the grounds.

Responsibilities

  1. Follow instructions, safety practices, and standard operating procedures

  2. Ensure Parks are maintained in alignment with Bexar County Agreement, and meet expectations for Public Safety

  3. Perform daily inspections of critical equipment and infrastructures

  4. Operate, maintain, and safeguard assigned equipment.

  5. Safely operate maintenance utility vehicle to include daily serviceability inspections

  6. Perform minor repairs to irrigation components

  7. Perform corrosion prevention and painting of fences and structures as necessary

  8. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience working with hand tools, blowers, pressure washers, and mechanical devices

  • Ability to lift and carry items over 50lbs.

  • Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to work outdoors a majority of the time.

  • The ability to remain alert, stand, walk, or sit for up to 12 hours.

  • High level of customer service

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Proficiency within the Microsoft family of programs

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of experience maintaining properties or landscaping

  • 2 years of experience operating irrigation control systems

  • Prior experience with event support

  • Experience working with and providing direction to contractors
