Title: Performance Operations Intern

Position Summary: The Performance Operations Intern supports the operations of our Sports Performance department and bridges the collaborative space between Team Operations.
This rewarding role supports the servicing of all the OCSC teams based at Osceola Heritage Park training facility in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Intern assists in the coordination of all high-performance staff duties with a special focus on the business of team operations, research, and innovation.
Role Description: The role of the Performance Operations Intern is to gain high performance knowledge and team operations skills by assisting the preceptors in delivering service to support operation, research, and innovation.
You will work alongside Team Operations, Soccer Operations Business Assistant, Head Athletic Trainer, Sport Scientists, Athletic Trainers, and High-Performance Specialists to design protocols that support service excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist and Learn Team Operations in logistical support of all OCSC Teams.
- Assist Soccer Operations Business Assistant in development of SOPs and best practice guidelines.
- Assist Head Athletic Trainer in development of strategic and change management research.
- Assist with designing and developing processes and protocols for operational management reviews.
- Assist with gameday/practice operations.
- Learn how to assist Team Operations with logistical operations related to player care.
- Contribute in all tasks that support our high-performance environment.
- Develop skills and experience under the supervision of the Sports Scientist.
Supervision: The student will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer. During the academic internship with Orlando City SC, it is the responsibility of the student to schedule times with a certified preceptor to complete any competencies and academic work.
Policies and Procedures:
- All tasks must be approved by a senior staff member. Decisions regarding reports, referrals, or actionable insights are undertaken by a supervisor.
- Information and communication in the training setting are privileged and are protected under HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act). Anything the student hears or sees in the facility regarding the patients’ condition, illness or injury is confidential and is not to be repeated or discussed with other patients, peers, coaches, parents, etc. Any time anyone other than the patient involved wants any information regarding the patients’ condition, illness or injury, the student must refer them to a senior member of staff.
- The student is to report all problems involving coaches and/or athletes to the supervising preceptor immediately after the problem arises. The student is to avoid confrontation with coaches and athletes.
- The student must become Safe Sport trained; course provided online by The U.S. Center for SafeSport.
- The student must follow and familiarize themselves with the emergency action plan procedures that are posted in the training rooms and in this handbook.
- As times and location of practice may vary and are subject to change, the student must be in the training facility during assigned times. The student is expected to be on time and not leave until all assigned duties are completed. Please give at least a weeks’ notice for any scheduled time off. We understand that emergency situations may arise, and we only ask for early/clear communication.
- During working, the student must be dressed in staff Orlando City SC provided Adidas apparel and footwear.
- There will be an assigned workstation to leave any papers, computer, backpack, etc.
- Use of cell phones for personal communication must be kept to a minimum when there are athletes in the facility, when providing service, and when at practice/games.
