Job Description:
Summary:
We are seeking talented students who are interested in paid summer internship opportunities within the New York Mets’ front office. Ideal candidates have a long-term goal of working in professional sports. The Summer Internship Program is designed for qualified students who are entering their Junior or Senior year of college. The Interns selected will make a significant contribution to the organization during the 2025 season. In addition to your department, you will be able to explore other aspects of the business through joint projects, participation in lunch & learns, and various networking events.
The primary function of the position will be to assist the Team Photographer & Coordinator, Photography in shooting images pre-game, in-game and post-game (e.g. scoreboard messages, veteran of the game, God Bless America, National Anthem and various other photos) throughout each Mets home game during the 2025 season. This role does include photographing non-game day events such as clinics, community outreach or other Mets related events both at Citi Field and within the NYC area as well.
Program Length/Schedule:
The internship will run from June 2nd through August 7th, 2025.
Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Work location will be on-site at Citi Field, Flushing, NY 11368.
Please note game day and special event responsibilities include late nights and weekends.
If you are selected to participate in the interview process, the first round will include a digital interview.
The New York Mets will not be providing housing for the internship.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Shoot photos pre-game, in-game and post-game to fulfill photo dept. needs
Assist with editing, keywording and organizing images from Mets photography team
Photograph non-baseball events as needed on both gamedays and on non-gamedays throughout the 2025 season
Qualifications:
Some knowledge of Major League Baseball rules, history and players.
Knowledge of photography, DSLR camera equipment, basic lighting equipment and editing software (Photoshop, Photo Mechanic).
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work and interact well with others (fellow interns, executives, front office staff, athletes, fans, corporate clients, etc.).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Solid computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
