Job Summary:
We are seeking high-energy, enthusiastic individuals to represent the NY Mets as handlers for our beloved mascots. Ideal candidates work well in a fast-paced environment and are able to engage, improvise, and interact with fans of all ages. Mascots will attend various events both on and off-site, to promote the NY Mets and create a fun and dynamic experience at all their appearances. Mascot handlers act as the mascot performers guide, ensuring their safety at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assisting mascot performers in and out of costume, guiding the mascot during events, ensuring their safety and appropriate interaction with fans.
· Communicate with the point of contact at each appearance the day of the event and being the voice of the mascot(s) as needed.
· Capturing high-quality photos and videos at mascot appearances and promptly sending them to management for review and use in future promotional materials.
· Managing any issues or emergencies that may arise during the mascot's performance, including ensuring the mascot performers safety at all time and deescalating situations when necessary.
· Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of marketing strategies.
· Exhibiting flexibility and availability for last-minute schedule changes, holidays, and weekends.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience in a similar role or in customer service is preferred.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to handle unexpected situations professionally and effectively.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
· Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, holidays, and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. The position involves significant movement and physical activity.

Pay Rate: $25.00 hourly
