BACKGROUND
Working under the direction of the 2024 NHL All-Star Staffing Director, the All-Star Location Office Coordinator will assist in coordinating the recruitment, assigning and management of a temporary workforce of up to 500 people working closely with the local temporary employment agency to ensure proficient team supervision. Will also assist in grassroots promotion of various 2024 NHL All-Star events. This position is temporary (mid-November 2023 to February 10, 2024) and will be based in Toronto, Ontario.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the operation of the All-Star Location Office prior to and during the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend
  • Assist with the community communications plan; assist with the Student Awareness program
  • Work with the local employment agency on their recruitment and onboarding process
  • Staff All-Star kiosks in Scotiabank Arena and at special events throughout Toronto
  • Work on local PR and marketing promotions as needed by NHL Events staff back in New York
  • Other miscellaneous and departmental duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
  • Strong familiarity with social media
  • Superior written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of the NHL and our events is required
  • Local knowledge of the Toronto area is required
  • Ability to work both independently and in a group setting
  • Must be detail-oriented, mature, responsible and have excellent organizational skills
  • A positive, energetic attitude

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree required
  • Staff management experience preferred
  • Event operations and production experience preferred
  • Familiarity with local colleges and universities preferred

Pay Rate for this position is $20-25/hour
