The NFL Business Development and Media Strategy (“BD”) department is a high impact group of approximately twenty professionals with backgrounds in media and technology, consulting, investment banking and private equity who oversee the content distribution strategy across all media platforms, lead new business relationships with emerging technology platforms and services, and manage some of the NFL’s most complex negotiations and strategic transactions. The department’s activities and accomplishments are highly visible to executive leadership and ownership of the NFL and have contributed to the growth and success of the National Football League through increases in fan engagement, revenue growth, and enhancement of long-term strategic value for the 32 member clubs.
Examples of work completed over the last several years include:
Led negotiations for long-term multibillion dollar TV distribution deals with CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN, and Amazon
Expanded the NFL’s business relationships with digital and social media companies such as YouTube, TikTok, and Snap
Led the NFL’s principal investing activities, including strategic investments in On Location Experiences/Endeavor and Fanatics
This person will assist in managing a portfolio of existing partnerships, as well as help identify and pursue new opportunities to distribute NFL content across various media platforms. This role requires a strong self-starter who can combine a solid understanding of and interest in the traditional and digital media space with a comprehensive foundation in business analysis and financial modeling.
The Manager oversees day-to-day project management across deal teams with the goal of driving short-term results and supporting the broader media business development and rights strategy efforts. Responsibilities include: producing financial models and presentations for executives and external partners, leading regular communication with external business partners (e.g., weekly calls), working closely with legal to develop new business relationships and negotiate partnership/licensing agreements, and thoughtfully managing internal stakeholders and processes (seeking internal feedback, escalating issues, proposing recommendations, etc.)
Job Functions
Take a meaningful role in all aspects of NFL media partnerships, from working on large-scale active partnerships to proactively identifying potential new business partners
Assess and analyze critical media and sports trends, as well as competitive and industry analysis
Oversee day-to-day activity with current partners to ensure contractual obligations are met and drive mutual success for the NFL and its partners
Conduct financial analyses and proposals for new business opportunities
Collaborate with senior executives and relevant internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Sales, Sponsorship, Content, Ops, etc.) to develop and negotiate agreements
Communicate market and deal updates to senior executives and team ownership
Create and participate in strategic presentations to senior executives inside and outside the organization
Contribute to positive group culture to foster high performance, efficient processes, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
Ability to create, work within, and present financial models for deal analysis and valuation
Strong attention to detail, especially when multi-tasking across various projects in a fast-paced environment; expected to execute tasks with minimal error and with high level of efficiency
Deep interest and enthusiasm for media, technology, and sports industries
Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate details to senior management
Confident, positive and collaborative personal style that can persuade and motivate others to accomplish corporate goals while holding team members accountable to a high standard of performance
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to efficiently produce written materials and analysis in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Required Education and Experience
B.A., B.S., or equivalent
2-4 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, management consulting, or media distribution
