NASCAR Event Management seeks a skilled professional to join the position of Director, Technical Inspection, NASCAR Cup Series.
The primary responsibility for this position is to provide high-level expertise, guidance, and oversight in all areas of the technical inspection process for the NASCAR Cup Series.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for forward thinking and strategic direction in all areas of technical inspection.
Provide high-level oversight in the implementation and application of the appropriate rules as it pertains to the garage area and the vehicle.
Manage all technical inspection processes, concerns, rules, issues, and procedural concerns and report such to the Managing Director in a timely manner.
Responsible for assuring that the technical inspectors use the issued NASCAR Mobile Inspection Tablet.
Handle complex issues appropriately in garage and pit areas.
Maintain strong working relationships with race teams and within the company, particularly in the Competition and Research & Development Departments.
Focus on improving employee engagement among the Technical Inspectors.
Research and implement best practices from other forms of motorsports.
Approximate travel 90%
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; and fifteen years of industry-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Customer service and people skills
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in various computer applications
