Tour Host

Position Summary:

The Minnesota Twins are seeking enthusiastic, energetic individuals who are passionate about Target Field and the Minnesota Twins. The ideal candidate is someone who sees Target Field and the Minnesota Twins for all its treasures, and Championship history of baseball. This job is much more than reading facts of a sheet. Tour hosts carry a huge responsibility to make the guest experience memorable, entertaining, informative, and seamless.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide ae consistent level of premium service and promotion of Twins fandom.

  • Share the story of the Twins through informative facts, engaging content, open discussions, and world class storytelling.

  • Escort tour guests around Target Field, following a predetermined itinerary.

  • Confidently speak in front of large visitor groups, describe points of interest, and respond to questions.

  • Aid in build out and development of a first-class attractions business.

  • Politely welcome all arriving visitors and manage queuing until their tour host arrives to begin the experience.

  • Monitor visitor's activities to ensure compliance with establishment or tour regulations, safety practices, designated areas.

  • Provide guests with accurate information about the Target Field Tour Experience, packages, and pricing while promoting Twins fandom.

  • Exercise ticketing, check-in, dispatch processes, and guide tours maintenance an acceptable pace and are on-time.

  • Participate in on-going Host training and development provided by the leadership team.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive, productive culture while also leading by example.

  • Support and offer contributions to management regarding strategy and initiatives.

  • Provide prompt, accurate and professional customer service.

  • Adjust itinerary to accommodate needs of tour participants, regarding restroom breaks and hydration needs; advise the Manager if further accommodations may need to be made to meet the needs of the tour group.

  • Ensure assistance for guests with special requirements of ADA needs.

  • Summon maintenance and security support as necessary.

  • Maintain working knowledge of the Minnesota Twins, Target Field, and ticketing.

  • Monitor ingress to ensure guests do not enter with prohibited items.

  • Validate all visitor check-ins.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety laws and standards.

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the management team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Experience and Education:

  • Enrolled in a current college or university, seeking a license in education K-12 is a plus.

  • Must have experience and skills in programs such as Microsoft, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to excel and multi-task while working under chaos pressure.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes weekdays and special events.

  • Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Knowledge of appropriate learning psychology, styles, and strategies.

  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times.

  • Friendly and nurturing disposition.

  • Flexibility and adaptability is required.

  • Ability to speak in other languages is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to work standing or in a seated position during the workday.

  • Must be comfortable navigating the facility to access the office, storage room, etc.

  • Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times.

  • Must be able to work extended hours as event scheduling may indicate.
