Position Summary/Objective:

The individual in this role will be a critical part of the digital content team, supporting the organization through all social media channels. This person will develop tactics to support campaigns, engage with fans through social media outlets, and manage aspects of social media channels for the organization.

This role will be primarily focused on the Minnesota Lynx but will also include other duties as assigned.

  • Develop and disperse compelling content for social networking sites and implement reoccurring day-to-day updates and changes to all channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Oversee and execute social media strategies.
  • Produce a detailed distribution calendar for the planning and management of all digital content.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for digital content initiatives.
  • Engage in conversations that surround brand & content and stimulate dialogue across digital platforms.
  • Attend Lynx home games, practices and team events to capture digital content including but not limited to photos, videos, interviews, and written content. Some travel to away games may be necessary in this role.
  • Track frequency of brand recognition and content.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to measure engagement in social media.
  • Maintain organizational voice while developing new content opportunities.
  • Generate and analyze digital reporting metrics to evaluate digital success across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to support strategies.

Proficiencies or equivalent experiences:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of WNBA and NBA preferred.
  • Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms and how to create compelling content for each.
  • Familiarity with HTML, DSLR Cameras for photo/video, Photoshop, and social media reporting tools.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience

At least 1-2 years of hands-on digital content experience. Prior experience with an agency, team or league preferred but not necessary.

Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx games as well as external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is both sedentary and active in nature. The working environment is generally favorable, and office lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

Work is generally sedentary in nature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment. Staff will occasionally ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff will frequently move boxes of merchandise and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
