Video Content Producer, Basketball Operations

Are you a passionate video producer with a deep understanding of basketball? The Miami HEAT seeks a Full-Time Producer/Videographer! This role will work closely to collaborate with the Basketball Operations department, documenting team practices, workouts, and more. The ideal candidate loves basketball, excels at evoking emotion and educating through the "right content," and can independently build, produce, shoot, and edit short and long-form video content for internal and external use. This role requires strong organizational and time management abilities and some travel requirements.

The Producer/Videographer also works collaboratively with the Media Production Department to bolster the Miami HEAT brand and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate excels in one-person shoots, demonstrates strong editing skills, and possesses a deep understanding of basketball, Miami HEAT history, and engaging storytelling. Additionally, this role supports daily operations within the Media Production Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Basketball Operations and cover all team practices and workouts.

  • Manage the development, planning, and production of the team's video needs and conceptualize content ideas.

  • Extensively research, locate, and gather footage from the HEAT video archive for video productions.

  • Produce, write, shoot, and edit short and long-format video presentations.

  • Capture high-quality HEAT video content at various events for all HEAT platforms including:

  • Practices, game action, and postgame interviews.

  • Marketing and Corporate Sales Events.

  • Studio shoots (chroma key and sit-down interviews)

  • Field Location shoots.

  • Assigned subject-driven features.

  • Set up and operate various production equipment for in-studio and on-location shoots, including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones.

  • Operate professional Field and Studio video production equipment, including lighting and audio equipment.

  • Manage, preserve, and maintain studio and equipment inventory, researching and recommending new technology for Video Production and Digital Cinema.

  • Assist with managing and archiving the department's video content.

  • Assist with daily operations of the Media Production department and the HEATV Studio.

  • Provide editorial and production support for part-time staff.

  • Learn, operate, and manage Media Production and Arena Broadcast systems, including AVID Media Composer, Interplay Asset Managing System, SONY Router, SONY Cameras, and more.

  • Learn and operate third-party software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Radiant Grid, and other encoding/compositing software.

  • Research and recommend new technology for Video Production and Digital Cinema.

  • Possess basic knowledge of software applications like Excel, Word, Outlook, and Photoshop for office tasks.

  • Hold a US Passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Ideal candidate is adaptable to working unconventional hours and capable of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year university or equivalent technical school training. Possess 3 years of broadcast production experience in the following areas: videography (video and audio); lighting; field producing; LIVE and remote productions; scripting and writing; non-linear editing and asset management; post-production compositing with motion graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop & After F/X’s, preferred.
