Providing a world-class football environment for our men’s, women’s and academy teams to deliver long-term, sustainable success on the pitch.
Teams within football include coaching, medicine & sports science, kit management, player care & wellbeing, player negotiations, scouting & recruitment, data & analytics and administrative support.

The Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to contribute to a winning women’s first team by developing a core group of players from its youth pathway. This will be achieved by creating the most successful girls’ academy by revolutionising the way we:

1. Nurture and maximise the potential of every girl involved in our pathway.
2. Develop an entertaining and winning style of attacking football the ‘Manchester United Way’.
3. Create a world-class environment.


The Role:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high quality training sessions.
  • Plan and prepare for each match with particular emphasis on the needs of individual players.
  • To always adhere to the Manchester United development & coaching ‘Redprint’ philosophy.
  • To engage fully in CPD events organised internally and externally.
  • Support player welfare.
  • To deliver post-match video sessions for the team / units and individuals as required.
  • Uphold the standards of sportsmanship, behaviour and playing style expected at Manchester United.
  • Contribute towards a positive working environment.
  • To effectively work in conjunction with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s safeguarding policy

The role requires flexibility in working hours due to the dynamic nature of the games and training program. On average a typical working week would look like:

  • Monday 5pm-8pm
  • Tuesday 5pm – 7pm
  • Friday 5pm- 7pm
  • Saturday – Fixtures (Flexible)

The Person:

  • Minimum UEFA B
  • FA Licensed Coach.
  • FA DBS
  • FA Safeguarding Children Course,
  • FA First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency
  • Experience of and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring elite youth players
  • Track record of consistent high performance in a professional environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate good session planning and strong organisational skills.
  • Understanding of learning, development, and high performance with a proven ability to create optimum learning environments for players.
  • Empathy with young players with an ability to inspire.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful, strong strategic relationships with Club staff.
  • Awareness of diversity and equality challenges in football.
  • Ability to travel independently.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role.
