Come play a role in the continued growth of MLB’s Partnership Marketing department. The Senior Manager, Partnership Marketing will be part of one of two teams responsible for developing sales opportunities and marketing strategies for new and existing MLB advertisers. These programs will encompass MLB’s official partnership activations and multi-platform media channels, including: MLB.com + 30 Club websites, @MLB and @Club social platforms, MLB.TV, and MLB Network. The position combines creative, big idea thinking, strategic planning, internal and external relationship building, and strong organizational skills. In addition, this position is responsible for creating and presenting sales and marketing materials as well as tracking the sales opportunities out to market.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with designated sales team on RFP responses, proactive pitches and MLB Official renewals
Challenge and collaborate with internal depts. (including but limited to: product, editorial, production, social, mobile, MLB Network, research, CSR, DE&I, Youth) to find creative ways to integrate current and prospective MLB partners and advertisers into MLB content, product and initiatives
Create Sales collateral for Sales team including MLB positioning slides and any new marketplace opportunities
Attend agency and client meetings with Sales team, as necessary, to pitch Marketing ideas
Oversee the ideation and execution of original content, DTC and B2B
Manage portfolio consisting of 10+ MLB Official Partner accounts, including wagering and gaming partners
Act as primary group conduit to Chicago and Los Angeles Sponsorship offices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
6-7+ years relevant experience with a sports marketing agency, team or league
Ability to expediently create a variety of client-facing presentations including, but not limited to: pitch decks, wrap-ups, overview slides, onesheets, etc.
Advanced skills in PPT, Excel and Google Docs
Strong written and presentation skills
Strong media knowledge across all platforms (Social, Digital, Broadcast and OTT)
Experience working in a fast-paced sales environment
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
Sports/entertainment partnership experience, preferred
Creative minds preferred
Experience working with content creators/producers, preferably on behalf of brands
Excellent organizational skills
Acumen for problem solving
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000
