Product Manager, Gaming & VR
The MLB Gaming & VR group drives the development, publishing, and licensing of video game and VR products for Major League Baseball. Working from MLB’s Manhattan headquarters the group deploys best in class games, events, and content for baseball fans around the world.
The Product Manager will work cross functionally with product, studio, analytics, production, marketing teams as well as club and league stakeholders to drive world class campaign execution both in and out of game.
Build strong partnerships with the development studios as the go-to publishing contact for daily product and business needs.
Work with business intelligence teams to track and define data-based learnings that inform product roadmap and promotional activities.
Liase with affiliated partners, brands, MLB clubs, and the league to track and deliver brand assets for the development and marketing of the product.
Facilitate asset review and approval processes with key stakeholders in across participating business units
Work with third parties to secure rights and assets for in-game use and facilitate proper implementation and approvals by development and marketing groups.
Act as a domain expert that can collaborate with stakeholders throughout MLB and partner organizations to advocate for games product.
Qualifications and Skills
3+ years of product management or relevant experience – video games industry experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree or certification(s) a plus.
Strong product management skills at a features/system level.
Experience developing and publishing video game products console, mobile and PC. platforms throughout the product life cycle.
Excellent interpersonal and group level communication skills – must be able collaborate with colleagues across different organizations, disciplines and locations to achieve results.
Intimate familiarity with professional sports, video games, and eSports landscapes.
A passion for baseball and video games!
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000.
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees.
