U21’s Head Coach and Mentor ETC Coach

About The Role

Leicester City Women Football Club are looking to recruit an outstanding coach with significant experience of working in Academy football to join our newly restructured Academy set up. This individual will be responsible for leading the coaching and preparation of the U21’s team, ensuring a culture is created that maximises the talent of each club player in all aspects of the four-corner model to maximise the quality of team performance and aids transition into the Women’s 1st Team. This individual will be across coaching as well as player development, progression and education.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of:

  • Experience of working with players in open age football

  • Experience of young player/ player development and knowledge of appropriate technique and skill development practices.

  • Experience in structuring sessions that are appropriate to the player’s needs.

  • Previous experience of working within an Academy environment and a clear understanding of the Academy System and the professional football environment.

The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and knowledge;

  • A practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work, with excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management.

  • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) across all levels and with players, staff and senior management.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

  • Dedicated to self-improvement and personal development.

  • An ability to inspire and lead individuals.

  • Focused on individual player development.

  • Willing to support and promote the Club and Football Philosophy.

Essential Requirement –

  • UEFA B or above coaching qualification.

  • FA DBS

  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid.

  • Must complete the Effective Coaching in the Female Game Course (ECFG) within 18 months of appointment.

  • Full UK Driving Licence - away travel required along with driving Club team minibus (depending on the team).

In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club. In August 2020, the Club turned professional after being acquired by King Power International – Leicester City’s parent company – and realigned as a core team in Leicester City’s football operation.
