Job purpose

An exciting role to join the Education & Skills Department as a Football & Education Coach. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of our BTEC Football & Education College programme. Working with our BTEC Students aged 16-18 to deliver football coaching sessions, enrichments and manage our games programme. The role holder will have a strong coaching background and be able to meet outcomes related to each project. They will be able to develop strong relationships with staff, participants and partners as well as supporting a range of education projects for Wolves Foundation.

Key responsibilities

  • To facilitate and lead all college football sessions including training and matches.

  • To support enrichment activity across the college BTEC programmes.

  • To manage training and fixtures for a designated team or teams.

  • To develop student personal development programme to support student growth.

  • To deliver recruitment activities to support the growth and development of the programme.

  • To deliver school & grassroot roadshows to develop further links with external partners.

  • To manage all administrative duties for the programme.

  • To provide pastoral, academic and professional support to students.

  • To build pathways into our post 16 programmes.

  • To work closely with the Education & Skills department to develop this area of work.

  • To work closely with partner organisations and maintain positive relationships.

  • To develop and implement a work-based learning programme within the Foundation.

  • To support and deliver across all education projects where necessary within the Foundation.

General responsibilities

  • This role involves working with children and/or adults at risk in a Regulated Activity (or in close proximity to children and/or adults at risk). This means that the post-holder is required to apply all relevant policies and uphold the Club’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.

  • Education & Skills Manager – Management and project support

  • Project Partners – work closely to meet project targets and objectives

Qualifications: the level of educational, professional and/or occupational training required


  • Post-holder must hold or obtain at the earliest opportunity the relevant safeguarding training (i.e. FA Safeguarding Children Workshop).

  • Post-holder will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level and cleared by the Wolves Safeguarding Manager.

  • Post-holder must hold a valid driving licence.

  • FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football or equivalent NGB qualification.

  • Post-holder to be educated at degree level or higher in a relevant area.


  • FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football qualification.

  • Post-holder to be educated at degree level or higher in a relevant area.

  • Clean driving licence and own car.
