What You Do

The Washington Spirit Social Media Producer/Creator is a content creator embedded with the team and organization to bring the stories, personalities and news of the team to fans in fun and creative ways, primarily through social video. You have a strong sense of trends and new ways to craft content to reach different audiences, and an eye for what consumers want to watch and see. You work quickly, delivering real-time content from training, press conferences and game footage. You will create for all platforms, but with an emphasis on TikTok and Reels, creating and uploading content, managing comments on each platform, and engaging with other accounts. You will also oversee YouTube and GIPHY, as well as other emerging platforms.

Who You Do It With

You will report to the Social Media Manager and work closely with the content team, particularly those in video production. You’ll work with players to capture content and the communications and marketing team to ensure brand alignment. You’ll be responsible for influencer marketing, work with influencers, and collaborate with local accounts to build the reach of the Spirit.

How You Do It

You have a willingness to try new things. You have a sense of best practices, and a desire to create a new standard. You have a passion for the internet, understanding of how people consume content and are constantly monitoring trends. You routinely use TikTok, Reels, YouTube and GIPHY and are always keeping your eye on new platforms.

Key Skills Needed

  • Skilled at capturing content on your phone, identifying the right moment to shoot and the best way to shoot

  • Ability to edit with phone apps as well as Adobe Premiere

  • Knowledge of videography and video editing

  • Understanding of SEO and content tagging to maximize reach

  • Self starter who works well under deadlines

  • Strong relationship builder and good communicator

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work nights, weekends and game days as needed

  • Experience creating social media content

  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, with a desire to continue to learn the software

  • Experience being a collaborator within a team environment

  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19

  • Available to work nights, weekends & holidays as needed based on sporting calendar

  • This role is located in our Falls Church office, we have a Hybrid schedule with Mondays & Friday’s being remote
