The Retail Supervisor plays a vital role in the daily operations of the retail store by overseeing part-time employees, daily tasks, merchandising, product levels, and more. A strong candidate for this position demonstrates a positive and professional image at all times. This individual understands that they have the ability to impact each guest’s experience, and does everything that they can to enhance the experience while abiding by company policies.

The Retail Supervisor must be available to work at least 90% of Nationals 81 home games, special events, and day store hours and must be available to work 16 to 32 hours per week while the Nationals are away.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive, professional, safe, and trusting environment for all our valued associates.

  • Create a positive experience for both internal and external customers.

  • Assign daily tasks to Associates and ensure they are executed promptly; reprioritize as needed.

  • Ensure that all Associates are “Coached for Success” as needed to maintain the highest quality service possible.

  • Effectively communicate, clarify, and enforce company policies and procedures to associates.

  • Effectively operate the point-of-sale system by entering accurate sales information and processing returns/exchanges that align with our policies.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of retail locations.

  • Communicate regularly with the Retail management team to:

    • Relay any customer concerns regarding experience, pricing, or merchandise.

    • Evaluate part-time employees’ performance.

    • Provide progress updates for assigned tasks.

  • Support back-of-house operations by maintaining inventory levels, shrink reduction, and stock room organization.

  • Review inventory levels with the Store Manager on the sales floor and stockroom and makes necessary inventory recommendations.

  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training Retail Associates.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of retail store supervision experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

  • Ability to manage priorities and coordinate tasks to solve day-to-day challenges in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining calm under pressure

  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems accordingly

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

  • Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
