The role of the Strategy Manager is to manage the development, execution, and measurement of a strategic agenda for the Washington Commanders. Working closely with the Executive Team, the Strategy Manager will oversee strategic governance, OKRs, and project management of major projects; and collaborate closely with Finance to translate the organization’s strategy into the budget and long-range plan. The Manager will also work closely with departments on continuous improvement and innovation projects that they identify and oversee.
Key projects include:
Developing and running an offsite for the senior leadership team to set priorities for the next 18 months
Working closely with Finance to develop a budget and CapEx plan that reflects the organization’s strategic priorities
Partnering with departments to develop objectives and key results (OKRs) as well as annual budgets
Working closely with the President and Executive Team to manage against OKRs, including through data visualizations
Determining in consultation with People Operations how to incentivize and reward employees for achieving org-wide goals
Cascading the enterprise strategy throughout the organization and involving Directors and VPs in developing and executing enterprise goals
Managing monthly OKR and budget reviews, as well as monthly commercial governance meeting focused on key decisions across the organization
Strong project management skills and problem-solving mindset
Clear written and verbal communication, including in memo and PowerPoint form
Experience developing basic Excel models and data dashboards
Ability to work collaboratively with team members with a variety of backgrounds and experiences
Ability to problem solve and prioritize independently
