As part of the Game Entertainment team, the Motion Graphic Specialist for Game Entertainment, will create 2D and 3D motion graphics for the Commanders that are displayed onto FedExField’s new endzone and lower fascia/ribbon boards, various LED in-bowl screens and MATV/IPTV. This includes all Washington Commanders home games and third-party events held at FedExField.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Game Entertainment and Staff to design, create, animate, and produce animated graphics, motion graphics, player introductions elements, etc. for Commanders’ home games and stadium event programming aired on the LED endzone/ribbon/fascia/voms boards.

  • Creation and design for static graphics for Commanders branded and sponsor materials for scoreboard programming on all LED displays in-bowl and MATV system

  • Work with Game Entertainment producers to add motion graphics into video recaps, transitionals, replay wipes, hype videos, etc.

  • Design and composite “logo loops” animations for Commanders theme games and events

  • Design and animate content for the engagement of fans, such as “Fan Cams”, “Dance Cams”, game themes, crowd prompts, player headshots, etc.

  • Continual creation and development of animated media for home games and future team-related events/promotions

  • Provide and deliver reliable brand standards across all projects and platforms

  • Assist with loading, organizing and export all content for the ANC LED boards at FedExField

In Season:

  • Assist with the creation of the home games’ Run-of-Show (ROS), PA Script, timeline

  • Organize all content for ROS with Staff, Producers and Game Producer

  • Gameday: create and produce time-sensitive graphics/animations that may affect the game’s momentum for the “home field advantage”, as needed

  • Off-Season/Non-Football:

  • Creation and design of static graphics/animation for the stadium’s special event (i. e. Rugby, concerts, soccer friendly’s, etc.)

  • Assist with the creation of the event’s Run-of-Show (ROS)

  • Organize all event elements on scoreboard OPS (stills, animations, etc.)

  • Research league-wide “best practices” to enhance the Commanders’ productions

  • Assist with occasional production shoots, edits, and other aspects of video production

  • All other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A digital demo reel or link to professional work examples is required.

  • Must be proficient in the Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e., Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign)

  • Strong knowledge of Cinema 4D/3D Studio Max or Maya

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Artistic skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadline while maintaining the highest quality of work

  • Ability to collaborate on features/projects with multiple departments and various team contacts

  • Have a positive attitude, be a team player, use reasonable judgement

  • Daktronics “Show Control” system and Ross Xpression experience a plus

  • Commitment to work scheduled event days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed and as per Commanders’ home game schedule.

  • 5+ years of experience in Motion Graphic design, in a stadium/arena environment is desired (particularly NFL, is a plus)

  • College degree with emphasis in Graphic Design, Motion Design, or Broadcasting
