This position will be an integral part of the Washington Commanders shaping the data environment that meets the business needs, problems, and overall objectives. This position will work closely with but not limited to the following departments: Information Technology, Corporate Affairs & Strategy, Finance and Ticket Sales & Service.
As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our business data warehouse. This includes managing connections to existing data sources, integrating new data sources, modeling data, and developing logic to ensure clean data. Responsibilities:
Design data models/structures to support modelling and reporting processes
Develop and manage processes to integrate datasets from various sources and vendors into our data warehouse, including Application Programming Interface (API) access and file manipulation using Python
Design and deploy efficient extract, transform and load (ETL) process
Typical items may include writing queries, stored procedures and functions; investigation of errors or problems; creating and modifying databases, creating and monitoring Structured Query Language (SQL) jobs
Troubleshoot data-related problems and deploy maintenance
Assist in designing processes to promote data cleanliness
Ensure compliance with privacy policies and process requests for information (CCPA, GDPR, etc.)
Test and implement changes to the data warehouse environment
Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders
Analyze large data sets to extract business-critical information including fan-related data to determine the need for future enhancements
Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
Create and maintain documentation where appropriate - in code and about solution architecture
Maintain a data dictionary

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, economics, computer engineering or related analytics field preferred
5+ Years of Industry Experience (Consulting / Analytics / Data Engineering) required
Strong SQL skills – ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries, and setting up data models for incorporating new data sources
Significant experience with data visualization tools (such as Tableau), data warehousing (such as Amazon Redshift), and scripting languages (such as Python)
Experience with Ticketmaster/SeatGeek data is preferred
Ability to take business requirements and translate into formal technical/architecture designs
Exceptional communication skills with non-technical parties
Problem-solving capabilities to discover, address and resolve issues
Independent worker with close attention to detail
