POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of our Event Services team, our Housekeeping Supervisors supervise event staff, ensuring Rogers Arena is safe and clean for our fans and that exceptional service is delivered to every fan. This is a part-time, hourly, events-based position.

A typical shift includes:

  • Supervising Event Housekeeping employees, providing support in the delivery of exceptional service to every guest who enters Rogers Arena

  • Monitoring floor traffic and staff deployments

  • Creating a positive work environment for staff by providing ongoing coaching, recognition, and feedback to ensure operational success and excellence; onboarding new employees

  • Serving the needs of the guests and making necessary operational decisions to ensure guests receive direct, personable service and immediate results

  • Supervising an assigned area in the building to ensure effective crowd management

  • Communicating appropriate event incidents and reports to Duty Managers

  • Responding to guest problems and questions, ensuring appropriate action is taken by staff

  • Communicating with other operations groups to ensure event and guest needs are met

  • Maintaining knowledge of safety and emergency procedures

  • Participating in Supervisor Team meetings to identify ideas, processes, systems, and information that would assist in continually improving employee and customer satisfaction

  • Other duties as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supervisory experience in the hospitality/service industry, with a customer-first approach to every interaction, including experience in hiring, coaching, and directing unionized employees

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to customer’s needs

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with a diverse customer base and staff at all levels

  • Ability to present information and instructions in a clear manner

  • Excellent problem solving and crisis management skills in a fast-paced environment

  • Confident, friendly, approachable, outgoing, team player; able to gain the confidence and trust of management and colleagues

  • Experience in the housekeeping industry, and housekeeping and/or cleaning certifications are an asset

  • First Aid certificate and/or WHMIS training is an asset
