The Creative Director is the visionary lead for our design department. They will be responsible for developing best in class creative and design work that will touch all parts of Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE). From season design packages and in-arena graphics to next-level partnership pitches and marketing campaigns, this is an opportunity to make a positive impact on a world class family of brands. The Creative Director will work closely with the Content Director, Brand Manager, and Corporate Partnerships team while overseeing a design team that includes graphic and motion designers.

A typical day includes:

  • Providing creative direction and developing meaningful and highly creative projects including Canucks and Warriors master brand and season campaigns and the Rogers Arena ‘Cathedral’

  • Fostering a culture of relentless creativity, innovation, and design excellence

  • Developing, approving, and monitoring of creative standards

  • Working with Content and Brand teams to develop and provide insights as needed

  • Creating best in class corporate partnership experiences and designs

  • Leading team of digital, static, and motion designers

  • Creating experiential and concourse activations

  • Working with Manager, Design on creative approvals as needed

  • Creating incredible, visually creative presentations for Sales and Corporate Partnerships teams

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Sports design and branding knowledge and experience

  • A winning attitude, and positive personality coupled with a stellar quality portfolio

  • Highly curious personality with a desire to inspire forward thinking branding, design, and campaigns

  • Deeply embedded with sport, lifestyle, and cultural trends

  • Experience in editorial and presentation design

  • Experience leading a team of designers at various stages of their careers

  • Strategic and critical thinking in relation to developing creative concepts; ability to see the whole picture

  • Collaborative, creative problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with designing for social platforms

  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts and ideas

  • Experience in handing a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency, and quality

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:

  • UI and UX Design knowledge

  • Experiential design

  • AI and VR knowledge

  • Motion design direction

  • Photography and Lighting

  • Illustration
