The Content Producer will be responsible for conceptualization and production of content for Vancouver Canucks and other Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) teams and departments. This includes writing, shooting, and editing of video content for marketing and corporate partnerships. The Content Producer will work closely with other Content Producers, the Content Manager and Social Media Manager.

A typical day includes:

  • Producing content for CSE brands including the Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Warriors, Abbotsford Canucks, and Rogers Arena

  • Developing stories that align with brief or objectives

  • Researching background and subjects; writing and editing scripts

  • Arranging talent, guests, and sets/locations

  • Filming subjects and events, interviewing subjects (off-camera)

  • Editing content (AVID, Adobe Premiere) including music selection and ideas on graphics

  • Facilitating capturing and logging of footage

  • Managing the transcoding and posting to multiple platforms

  • Projects can include marketing campaigns, community initiatives, corporate partnership creative, and human resources needs

  • At least three years of related content production experience, preferably in sports or documentary storytelling

  • Deep knowledge of hockey and sports media

  • Strong understanding of online video formats and channels

  • Incredible camera and editing skills that makes your work stand out

  • Understanding of recording audio in a variety of situations and less than ideal conditions

  • Winning attitude and positive personality

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Journalism, Communications or Broadcasting

  • Versatile content creator with a broad range of experience in terms of tone/voice, diverse audiences, and project types; talent for producing everything from highly entertaining to inspirational to emotional content

  • Creative, insightful, and innovative way of approaching stories or problems - constantly looking for new ideas and ways of doing things

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under tight timelines with unpredictable work weeks
