The Director of Culinary Nutrition will collaborate with the Director of Performance Nutrition to facilitate athlete nutrition care along with the oversight and execution of practice facility, ownership kitchen and game day operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be an innovator and creator in everything you do

  • Manage and supervise other nutrition and kitchen employees

  • Provide training and mentorship to other nutrition and kitchen employees that have diverse backgrounds and different skill sets

  • Create schedules for the nutrition and kitchen staff

  • Responsible for online ordering system for player and basketball operations staff

  • Create enticing and creative menus for a large number of high-level events a year

  • Foster a trusting relationship with other employees and athletes

  • Design educational materials for other nutrition and kitchen staff

  • Stock supplies, ingredients, and equipment in multiple locations

  • Cook, prepare, deliver, and stock meals for premium clients and ownership in multiple locations are Salt Lake and Utah County

  • Assist in implementing specific dietary needs in kitchen based on health analysis and recommendations of the Director of Performance Nutrition

  • Oversee and cultivate the athlete meal prep program

  • Assist leadership in the department with special events and projects including team building events and holiday parties

  • Run the player pregame meal locker room action station, also maintain inventory of locker room mise en place

  • Uphold all Utah Jazz Performance Nutrition standards daily

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires 10+ years of kitchen and hospitality experience

  • 5+ years in management experience preferred

  • Experience working in a professional sports environment preferred

  • Food handlers permit required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.

  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.

  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.

  • This person must be able to lift 50 lbs.
