The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day execution of social media activities across all UFC accounts, with a targeted focus on Tik Tok. This role creates timely, accurate, and relevant content for fight fans before, during, and after UFC events. This position manages the posting process, from concept to approval and manages the execution.
Responsibilities:
Manages creative requests and asset delivery for UFC social media and digital channels.
Acts as the eyes and ears of the UFC’s Brand on TikTok, through content creation, community management and an understanding of the overall TikTok ecosystem and trends.
Creates original content mobile-first, short form video content, and live executions.
Live Event Coverage
Works with multiple departments and stakeholders to create, copy-edit, and post social media content for UFC’s official pages
Maintains daily/weekly social media calendar and posting cadence that are aligned with the TikTok partnership deliverables
Works with our Sponsorship department in executing brand partnership TikTok deliverables
Monitors the UFC “universe” and interacts with athletes, celebrities and influencers with an “always on” approach.
Provides regular remote coverage, and occasionally provides on-site coverage of UFC events using social media tools and platforms including Grabyo, Emplifi, and others.
Captures content during Live events on the ground via cameras and cell phones for our social channels.
Generates custom social media analytics reports using social media platforms native insights and analytics tools.
Tracks content against KPIs, identifying trends and best practices.
Leads UFC fighter TikTok efforts, onboarding and educating fighters on how to utilize and maximize the platform.
Manages Athlete Media including monitoring athletes’ social media presence, working with platforms to verify accounts, and proactively providing content to athletes to promote events from on-sale to fight week.
Executes Community Management across all social platforms including tracking fan sentiment about fighters, promotions, and events; identifying any UFC Fight Pass and ESPN+ purchasing issues;
Provides support for the growth of Secondary Channels (UFC PI, UFC Fight Pass, etc.).
Performs other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
Two years of experience working with social media for a sports property preferred
Well-versed and comfortable editing and posting content through Tik Tok
Journalism background and MMA/UFC knowledge is preferred
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, and After Effects proficiency
Photography and videographer experience
Microsoft Excel for creating, editing, and maintaining analytics reports
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in accordance with UFC’s live event schedule
Positive attitude and an ability to handle an intense schedule, fast-paced environment, and off-hours requests
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidential information
