The UFC's Toronto, Canada office has a unique opportunity to join the team as the Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator. The selected candidate will shape and execute digital content and social media strategy, while working closely with multiple departments to create awareness and develop initiatives that enhance the brand in the Canadian market. The position works with the content and creative teams to translate English and French content, performs promotional activities ahead of fight cards, as well as live-event coverage on all UFC Canada platforms. The role requires developing distinct social media voices for both English- and French-Canadian fans.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to and executes Canadian social media strategy, in both English and French Canada
Maintains daily/weekly social media calendar and posting schedule to maximize impact of posts
Creates distinct voices for both English- and French-Canadian social accounts
Manages creative requests and asset delivery for UFC Canada social media and digital channels
Works with multiple departments and stakeholders to create, copy-edit and post social media content for UFC Canada’s official pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.
Monitors the UFC Canada “universe” and interacts with athletes, celebrities and influencers with an “always on” approach
Provides regular remote coverage, and occasionally, on-site coverage of UFC events using social media tools and platforms including Grabyo, Socialbakers, and others
Create promotional social assets (still images and videos) for all UFC accounts
Generates custom social media analytics reports using social media platforms native insights and analytics tools
Tracks content against KPIs, identifying trends and best practices
Monitors athletes’ social media presence, work with platforms to verify accounts
Work with Canadian UFC athletes to build their online presence on both UFC’s and their own social media profiles
Drive subscriptions to UFC Fight Pass by leveraging the FP library, original programming, and third-party promotions
Executes Community Management across all social platforms including tracking fan sentiment about fighters, promotions, and events; identifying any UFC Fight Pass and PPV purchasing issues; and managing the UFC Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Inbox
Coordinate with wider UFC digital teams to maintain a Canadian-tailored content experience for fans
Translates digital content, creative and video assets, as well as press materials into French and manages relationship with French contractor
Provide support to broadcast partners to promote tune-in to UFC events
Performs other tasks, projects and responsibilities as assigned
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
Must be fluent in English and French, both verbal and written; ability to translate from English to French and vice versa
Two years of experience working with social media; sports property preferred
Prior experience in translation services is a strong asset
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Adobe Illustrator proficiency
Photography and videography experience
Microsoft Excel for creating, editing, and maintaining analytics reports
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays in accordance with UFC’s live event schedule
Positive attitude and an ability to handle an intense schedule, fast-paced environment, and off-hours requests
Passion for social media marketing, with strong understanding of trends and best practices
Ability to work independently and thrive in a multi-task, fast-paced environment
