POSITION: Project Manager – Construction REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Project Management DEPARTMENT: Project Management COMPANY: Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club LOCATION: Rogers Centre (Toronto, ON)
OVERVIEW: This role will support the Senior Manager, Project Management to complete construction projects that will improve and maintain Rogers Centre as a best-in-class ballpark for our staff, fans, and players. As a Project Manager, you will support the overall development of projects from conception to execution and closeout. You will coordinate with the necessary stakeholders, business units, architects, designers, general contractors, vendors, and various 3rd party groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
Manage projects ranging from $50,000 to $2,000,000
Work with Senior manager to define project scope, deliverables, and goals
Develop project plans and associated documents. Manage consultant teams for planning and design of new projects. Ensure accuracy of documents.
Prepare budgets, construction schedules, coordinate drawings and complete stakeholder approval sign off prior to project kick off. Set and manage project expectations with all stakeholders.
Identify key issues impacting construction cost and schedule
Proactively manage scope changes, devise contingency plans and report on project change. Prepare change order documentation for senior sign off.
Be the go-to Project Manager for annual CAPEX projects ranging from $50,000 to $2,000,000
Communicate project status and expectations to team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment between all parties.
Control the site management, coordination of subcontractors and vendors through to project completion, commissioning, and occupancy.
Evaluate progress of projects with Senior Manager for completion payments
Complete project close out and lessons learned documentation.
Document and File projects in accordance with best practices, procedures, and internal reporting requirements.
Assist Sr Manager in negotiating contracts/contract revisions with general contractors or trade contractors.
Prepare reports as needed on existing and proposed projects
Work with Sr. Manager to ensure all CAPEX projects are appropriately scoped, costed, and planned
Work with Sr. Manager to develop a multi year CAPEX plan
Assist Sr. Manager in the input of monthly CAPEX reporting / forecasting for Finance and key stakeholders
Cross Functional Skills
Superior relationship skills and oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop and sustain collaborative working relationships with project stakeholders.
People relationships are critical in this role and include: all levels of senior management; all departments involved in projects; consultants; architects, engineers and vendors
Attend regular meetings with Senior Manager and stakeholders, consultants, engineers, contractors, and vendors to communicate effectively on both the concerns and best interests of the organization
Ability to learn and document new industry practices and trends
Minimum 2 years of related project coordination, project management experience in construction industry
Must have experience with construction project management, scoping, and scheduling
Known as a team player, work well within a collaborative environment including group decision making processes
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
Highly organized and ability to prioritize, allocate time effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight time constraints
Self motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or with a team
High attention to detail and consistent high level of accuracy
Superior communication skills
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Knowledge of MS Project is an asset
Knowledge of Oracle is an asset
Degree, Certificate, or Diploma in Construction, Engineering, Project Management or similar
Knowledge of Oracle
