JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the HR Department – specifically for Baseball Operations department. This includes full-cycle recruiting, training, employee relations, benefit response, and administration of the company policies, procedures, and programs. This position will report to the HR VP and provide operational and strategic HR partnership for the Baseball Operations staff and minor and major league players. More specifically, the role will provide leadership to drive, influence and implement people strategies that support and align with the business needs of the Baseball Operations department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Partner with leaders in the planning process to ensure strategic plans drive business results, optimize customer service and align with company values.
Consult Baseball Ops hiring managers and supervisors on best practices regarding HR issues in the areas and serve as a resource to address benefits questions, employee relations issues and ensures proper escalation.
Collaborate with hiring managers to understand current hiring needs, trends and metrics. Consult on the talent acquisition needs and practices including compensation guidance and interviewing/screening support.
Review and develop job descriptions, post internal/external openings, screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, coordinate in-person interviews, perform credit and background checks.
Administer onboarding processes for new baseball staff that drive engagement and set up new employees for productivity and success in their role.
Manage compliance training events for players & field staff, and support other Baseball Operations leadership and staff development initiatives.
Manage the performance review process for baseball operations.
Coordinate with Payroll on major and minor league player movements and changes.
Ensure adherence to all federal, state and local employment laws, including EEO and FLSA compliance.
Serve as the HR liaison for major and minor league players as well as baseball operations staff.
Maintain confidential employee personnel files, update HRIS, gather and analyze data for HR metrics.
Participates in rotating game duty schedule.
Assist with other special projects and other duties as assigned.
College degree required.
Fluent in Spanish required.
3-5 years of HR generalist experience
Strong knowledge of MS Office and HRIS software (Workday experience preferred)
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Self-motivated and able to work under strict deadlines and minimal supervision.
Solid knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources and Recruiting.
Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, and benefits, preferred.
Ability and flexible to travel to Arizona, North Carolina, and Dominican Republic affiliate locations
Ability to work flexible hours and holidays as needed.
