The Tampa Bay Rays Communications department is seeking a coordinator for a full-time position. This position will have a primary focus on credentialing and gameday setup, and a secondary focus assisting the team in both baseball and business communications efforts. Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate all aspects of the team’s credentialing process, including serving as the main contact for all media credentials to cover games and events at Tropicana Field. Also responsible for official Rays Spring Training credentials, postseason credentials, team credentials and batting practice passes. See all processes through from production to distribution.

  2. Assist in the production of press box publications for home games, including stat pack, minor league report and lineups, as well as update rosters after each transaction during the season

  3. Assist with press releases and other projects as assigned

  4. Assist with Rays business-related communications efforts as needed

  5. Assist with media interview requests for players and coaches as needed

  6. Assist with 25th Anniversary communications efforts as needed

  7. Summarize news stories and compile press clips on a daily basis in the offseason

  8. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.


  1. Prior sports experience in media relations or sports information

  2. Highly knowledgeable in baseball statistics, terminology and rules

  3. Highly skilled researcher with experience using baseball statistical databases is preferred

  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  5. Detail- and deadline-oriented

  6. Highly motivated and well organized

  7. Proficient in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word and Excel

  8. Fluency in Spanish preferred
