The St. Louis Cardinals' Stadium Operations Department is currently seeking candidates for its Base Station Operator position. The Base Station Operator is an integral part of the stadium's Security Operations team, and is primarily tasked with overseeing the incident command posts communication lines, or Base Stations' communication lines, during all major events. This position operates a number of communication, information and security systems to ensure accurate documentation, the appropriate dispatching of resources, incident investigation and timely resolution, as well as any maintenance needs and guest service request that may arise during a baseball game or other major event.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Actively monitor and operate phones, radios, (the main sources of inbound information in the central operations hub) for any activity during a major event
Operate a computerized incident management software to include entry input, incident prioritization, and appropriate resource dispatch and resolution follow up
Assist with monitoring Busch Stadium's CCTV system and crowd for situational awareness and live incident investigation in a proactive manner, enabling the identification and mitigation of potential threats
Quickly prioritize and categorize all incident documentation and responses in a fast-paced environment to facilitate effective and efficient resolutions. This includes shorthand note taking and typing data entries into various computer software systems
Education and Experience Required:
1-2 years experience providing incident response
Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment
Good written and oral communication skills
Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Education and Experience Preferred:
3-5 years experience with incident management/database computer systems
Experience in law enforcement, security, dispatching, or other related fields
Excellent written and oral communication skills
