On December 4, 2018, the NHL granted the 32nd NHL franchise to Seattle Hockey Partners. Two years later, we revealed the Seattle Kraken brand to the world. As the newest addition to the Pacific Division in the Western Conference, the Kraken continues to prepare for its first puck drop in the 2021-2022 NHL season. In addition to the redevelopment of Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle Kraken are consecutively building their front office headquarters and training facility with three NHL regulation rinks at the Kraken Ice Centre at Northgate. This development represents not only further investment in making Seattle the epicenter of the Pacific Northwest but establishing a skating presence within the city for the first time in more than 40 years.
The Seattle Kraken is looking for a Director of Production to lead their talented and dynamic group of producers, videographers, and editors, who have created award-winning content over the team’s inaugural season.
We pride ourselves on being excellent storytellers who have the honor of creating video elements to engage, educate and entertain our fans across broadcast, in-arena and on digital platforms.
As we step into season 2, we are excited to bring in an excellent leader to help ideate, strategize, and organize workflow. The successful candidate will be able to ensure the Kraken brand is represented through each and every piece of content, that we are maintaining our high standards, and that we have the right strategy in place for multi-channel execution.

Candidate must also be proficient in video editing programs, and technical use of video cameras.
The Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Lead and mentor video production team.
Lead video strategy for multi-channel content creation
Ideate and storyboard
Push boundaries of video production and keep up to date on current trends
Work closely with the brand team to maintain consistency and an identifiable look and style for Kraken video
Manages the quality and efficiency of video production and post-production workflows, timelines and deadlines
Ability to continuously improve processes and systems and adapt to changing priorities with ease
Cross departmental collaboration
Ability to shoot and edit when required.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (must include experience in a video production environment)
Demonstrated leader with experience managing a team
Excellent organization, planning, and communication skills
Experience with video editing software platforms, specifically proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
Extensive knowledge of video production equipment
A collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
Ability to create culture and build a team
Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Candidate should be nimble, calm under pressure, able to multi-task and wear many hats when necessary
Candidate must be flexible in working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed
Preferred Experience & Skills:
NHL experience a plus
Project management experience
Potential Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
