Position Summary:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Digital Asset team member. We ask that you have an eye for detail, the ability to anticipate needs, and a willingness to problem solve. You will assist the Digital Asset Management Specialist in uploading, organizing, and tagging current media in the Seattle Kraken Digital Asset Management system. The media includes game day content, various shoots, and previous year footage. The role will also support the management and monitor content flow in and out of the digital library.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with production team to organize game day and shoot media

  • Effectively and properly catalogue all archival footage owned by the Seattle Kraken

  • Develop an intimate knowledge of the Kraken archive to help guide producers and editors in locating content

  • Execute the proper movement of files, ingest, metadata organization, troubleshooting software and hardware issues of transcoding and encoding files

  • Transcode files as needed

  • Collaborate with production staff and other personnel to ensure proper workflows are followed

  • Fulfill daily footage requests

  • Maintain relationships with key internal partners to encourage proper content management

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in file management using a Digital Asset Management system

  • Ability to work within a website media management system with rich-text editing

  • Interest in media management and content organization

  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent analytic and organizational skills

  • Appreciation and interest in learning about archival and preservation practices

  • Diligent worker

  • Understanding that this position involves repetitive steps, but also facilitates opportunities for creative and innovative thinking

  • Downloads / Uploads of assets through various transfer methods

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts

  • Passion for understanding of the sport of hockey, related teams and players, and industry stakeholders

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required

  • Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs
