The Prep/Cook is responsible for the proper preparation, set up and execution of meals in the kitchen and is committed to sustainability, proper health and safety.
Assist in the preparation of meals and accurately follows recipes.
Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.
Maintain the organization and proper storage of pantry, cold, and leftover food.
Ensure that food is properly labeled, logged and discarded at the end of the “use by” date.
Ensure that equipment, utensils, dishes and work space are neat, clean and sanitized.
In charge of completing tasks set forth by Head Chef.
Must have strong knowledge of protein butchery.
Maintain safe practices when preparing and storing food products.
Keep a professional relationship with staff and players.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-year experience working in a restaurant kitchen or in the catering business.
Working towards or is a recent graduate of a culinary institute. Nutrition Certification a plus.
Knowledgeable in culinary terms, possess strong knife skills and safe food handling.
Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
Food handler’s card may be required according to local and state law.
Able to work non-traditional hours and remain flexible regarding work schedule.
Ability to handle confidential matters and information with discretion and diplomacy.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 25+ lbs.
