DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the relationship between the San Diego Padres (SDP) and Delaware North Companies (DNC), or other contracted partner(s), to oversee all retail operations at Petco Park, including Padres Authentics Business
Manages the profitability of the retail business at Petco Park as it relates to SDP’s partnership with DNC, including recommendations of pricing, merchandise selections and strategy, labor costs, and inventory control consistent with SDP and DNC objectives
Establishes and develops a trusted relationship with DNC Management Team to recommend and establish strategy, pricing, display, and merchandise selection within approved SDP guidelines
Works with Strategy & Analytics and Finance to coordinate business plan development, capital expenditure and financial audits as well as RFP process for new vendors, as appropriate
Oversees Manager of Hospitality and the game used memorabilia related operations at Petco Park, including overall Authentics product selection, pricing, inventory, and maintaining game used and authentication retail strategy consistent with SDP and MLB objectives
Works with DNC Management Team to maintain positive client and guest relations, including coaching and counseling of DNC employees on the Petco Promise to ensure that all DNC employees adhere to SDP standards and procedures to provide the highest quality fan experience in professional sports
Works with Strategy & Analytics to establish a consistent system of measurement and surveying for Petco Park fans to measure relative success of retail business. System should be reported on a homestand-by-homestand basis with a focus on driving topline revenue, per caps, average transaction size, category penetration, conversion rate and other key reporting metrics
Works with SDP Guest Experience to help implement, track and measure guest experience service standards for DNC retail employees including tracking and reporting on Voice of Customer Surveys, Secret Shopper Exercises, and other guest response programs and initiatives
Develops and recommends new innovative ideas to ensure the highest quality and most appropriate and profitable retail selections are available for purchase
Works with department heads across the organization to accomplish revenue goals and objectives; this group includes but is not limited to Ticket Sales & Service, Petco Park Events, Corporate Partnerships, Community Affairs, Legal, Guest Experience, and Ballpark Operations.
Works as a project lead with the Corporate Partnerships team to coordinate the integration of branded concepts and new retail and merchandise partners into Petco Park, including the sales process, communication, branding, display needs, and basic concept execution with DNC and SDP Operations, to ensure successful implementation
Works with SDP Marketing Department to ensure all retail items in Team Store and throughout ballpark are consistent with the organization’s brand standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Must meet the following minimum requirements:
Minimum of 4-year Bachelor’s Degree; Masters Degree, or equivalent experience, preferred
Minimum 5-8 years of retail operations experience in manager level role or higher, multi unit retail preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with leaders of varied disciplines to integrate their departments and responsibilities into the overall success of the organization
Knowledge of a broad range of global retail markets and business trends, sports fashion experience preferred
Knowledge of implementation process of new technology platforms for retail stores, including, but not limited to, new POS systems
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
General knowledge of office skills and use of office equipment (copier, printers, fax, telephones, computers)
Strong personnel management, communication, time management and organizational skills. Proven ability to multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar
Professional image and demeanor
Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment
Possess high degree of discretion and professionalism
Consistent, punctual and regular attendance
Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
Able to travel as needed
Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds
