As the Carpenter, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all carpentry duties around the Rose Garden and Memorial Coliseum. General maintenance includes a variety of construction, maintenance and operational function such as carpentry, painting, welding mechanical maintenance etc.


  • Responsible for making repairs to building hardware i.e., doors, locks, hinges, paper towel dispensers, tissue dispensers, Ballard’s etc. (welding and metal work).

  • Perform rough and finished carpentry work; build, repair and remodel a large variety of wood structures, block walls and concrete structures erect framework; lay out, install and repair partitions, office furniture and cabinets.

  • Build, repair and replace cement and plaster installations; mix, pour, level and finish concrete; lay bricks, pavers, tile and concrete blocks.

  • Operate, clean repair and maintain carpenter shop and equipment.

  • Record keeping, estimating time, cost and material used to complete projects and repairs.

  • Responsible for making repairs to building and equipment.

  • Responsible for patching drywall, block walls, and concrete structures.

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry work: build, repair, and remodel a large variety of wood structures: erect framework and sheetrock.

  • Prepare wood and metal surfaces for finish: mix, match, and apply paint or stain.

  • Build, repair and replace cement and plaster installation; mix, pour, level and finish concrete; lay bricks, tile and concrete block.

  • Responsible for estimating time, cost and materials used to complete projects and repairs.

  • Operate, clean, repair and maintain equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • You possess an Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.

  • You possess valid state driver’s license

  • You possess knowledge of occupational hazard and safety precautions

  • You are flexible with work hours often called on to work nights and weekends

  • You have the ability to carry out work assignment with little or no supervision.

  • You have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions to include plans, sketches, and blueprints.

  • You have the ability to operate forklift, and other power equipment i.e. table saw, radial arm saw, drill motors etc.

  • You have the ability to communicate optimally and cooperate with employees at all levels of the organization, tenants and clients.

  • You are very organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize workload to optimally meet deadlines.

  • You are able to work in fast-paced environment

  • You are able to work flexible hours that may include nights and weekends
