The Portland Timbers and Thorns are looking for a mid-level Graphic Designer to craft resonant work for our fans. The ideal candidate will be an experienced graphic artist with a proven ability to concept ideas from scratch. They will work in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced environment where collaboration and presentation skills are key. This position reports directly to the Sr. Creative Director.

Primary job functions are as follows:

  • Develop creative concepts and design visual assets, including but not limited to collateral, merchandise, and advertising

  • Manage each project directly with clients, gathering specs, setting clear expectations and delivering work on time

  • Prep, structure, and deliver final files to external print and design partners

  • Ensure all designs are consistent with our brand guidelines

Education:

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar field or position

Experience working as part of a design studio or internal creative team

Key Skills:

  • High technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • A strong eye for aesthetics and visual details including typography, composition, and color

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to design and deliver graphic packages quickly, efficiently, and independently

  • Solid understanding of print production

  • Knowledge of and affinity for soccer and the Portland Timbers and Thorns

  • Illustration skills a plus

  • Motion Graphics experience a plus
