Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Arena & Facility Manager is a key member of our team, ensuring the highest levels of customer service and quality maintenance at our world class facility. As an experienced facility manager, you will provide guidance and leadership to a team of facility operators to ensure that a high standard of safety, cleanliness and technical operation is maintained at the Richcraft Sensplex.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the facility and all systems, including, but not limited to: HVAC, sound, lighting, ice making, fire protection, safety, scoreboard, communication, etc.
Ensure proper building standards are maintained
Ensure the interior and exterior of the facility are properly maintained on a continuous proactive basis
Ensure set-up requirements and technical requirements for events are executed per specifications
Participate on committees to assist with event details and other special requirements
Responsible for ensuring that the assembly and disassembly of the facility are properly executed as dictated by programs and events
Ensure the facility is in compliance with Health and Safety regulations
Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of equipment, furniture, and supplies
Assist with annual maintenance projects
Maintain facility and property to City of Ottawa and Capital Sports Management Inc. standards
Responsible for following facility budget – to be responsible for meeting and over achieving budgets
Responsible for budget creation and monthly financial statement review analysis, forecast setting
Management of equipment lifecycle budgets
Hiring, training, scheduling staff, performance management, payroll of all Richcraft Sensplex
Ensure all staff are properly trained on proper equipment use and maintenance
Other duties as assigned by the Director, Operations and General Manager, CSMI
Health & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (“OHSA”) are adhered to, specifically:
Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures
Using or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required
Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member
Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures
Training
Responsible for completing on-line training modules and for ensuring that all Operations team members do the same. These modules include, but are not limited to:
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA)
AODA, the Integrated Accessibility Standards
Back & Lifting Safety Training
Fall Protection
Lockout / Tagout Training
Ontario Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness
Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
WHMIS 2015 (GHS)
Violence and Harassment in the Workplace
May also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled (eg. customer service).
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENT
Minimum 3-5 years’ previous experience in ARENA management industry is ideal
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Superior Leadership and Coaching skills
Class “B” Refrigeration Operator Certificate is an asset
ORFA Basic Refrigeration and Ice Making certificates an asset
ORFA Safe Ice resurfacing operations Certificate is an asset
Strong knowledge of ice making techniques and ice in and out
Experience in HVAC systems and refrigeration plants (ORFA basic refrigeration an asset)
Ensure proper building standards are maintained
Above average understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act
Handyman skills in carpentry, plumbing and electrical
Up to date First aid, CPR, defibrillation
Must be able to lift heavy objects
Able to work independently
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
Knowledge of equipment repairs and usage
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
Bilingualism (English & French) is preferred
