The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Community Engagement Intern. This position will serve to provide administrative and operational support for the development and execution of the day-to-day Community Engagement and Community Fund activities. These duties include charitable donations, development of relationships with the community, partners and beneficiaries, in-game fundraising and assisting with the planning and execution of community events and initiatives. The internship is designed to develop valuable skills and gain work experience with a professional baseball organization.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and fulfill community donation requests
Oversee donor database of donations and item inventory
Assist with game day initiatives including MLB initiatives, special presentations and Nonprofit Partner of the Game
Assist with educational programs including school visits, mailings, and database management
Assist with Community Fund special events and fundraisers
Assist with in-game fundraising
Assist with youth baseball and softball initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Presently enrolled in an accredited college or university for an undergraduate or master degree, or have recently graduated within the past 12 months
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
Prior experience with DonationXchange software is a plus
Ability to lift 15+ lbs and sit/stand for long periods of time
