This is an exciting time at Newcastle United and we are looking for talented individuals to help us identify and recruit our next generation of talent. As such, we are looking for an experienced and innovative UK Scouting Lead to manage and lead the U13-U18 UK Scouting team. You will lead in the identification, assessment and presentation of players to who have the talent and capability to sign for the Academy and in the long term and have the talent to transition into the Club’s First Team.
Acting as a key decision maker in the process of recruiting elite talent to Newcastle United Academy in line with budgetary requirements you will develop strong relationships with the North and South Scouting Leads to drive and appraise KPI’s within the U13-U18 team.
With significant experience of talent identification within professional football you will identify new potential target players by using expert knowledge and available data. You will work collaboratively with the North and South Scouting Lead and the Head of Youth Recruitment to prioritise key talent with your expert knowledge of player potential and performance.
You will possess excellent knowledge of football with regards to game models, playing styles and profiles of technical, tactical, physical, physiological traits within the potential targets. This experience will be invaluable in enabling you to initiate ideas and map out CPD within the U13-U18 UK team. This will involve preparation, planning and specific meetings liaising with the Head of Youth Recruitment to produce individual development plans for staff development.
You will work closely with the wider recruitment and scouting department specifically the Emerging Talent and First Team department, in relation to potential targets at U17-U18 to recruit in line with the gap analysis, ensuring that the scouting of these (and other) players adheres to EPPP and PL guidelines.
Experience of managerial experience working in a full-time talent identification role and of developing scouts and mapping CPD, for staff, are highly desirable. Possession of the FA Talent ID Level 3 (or equivalent and a relevant degree (or equivalent) level qualification are essential, with FA Talent ID Level 4 (or equivalent) and FA Coaching Certification A being desirable also.
