Who are we hiring?
The Temp Associate for Events is responsible for working with the Events team to implement, produce and execute more than 100 wide-ranging corporate, team, partnership, charitable and entertainment events. These events include the company-wide holiday party, Rangers and Knicks Season Opening celebrations, team-related events, partner events, A Day of Giving, Garden of Dreams charitable events), and a variety of other events. This role will work as part of the team to either lead or support events, depending on scope. When leading an event, the Manager is responsible for all aspects of ongoing event priorities, including creating event concepts that deliver against stated objectives, establishing timelines, managing budget, tracking and reporting, maintaining strong internal and external client relationships. In all cases, the Manger must work with the team to execute against detailed, exhaustive event plans for each event, including budget, attendees, theme, purpose, logistics, layout, security, menu, décor, etc.
What will you do?
Assist with the development, management and execution of events for MSG and its properties according to requirements, target audience and objectives
Research venues and vendors utilized to assist with building successful events including but not limited to, audio visual, security, décor, staffing, food and beverage etc
Input all information to event filing system as well as complete necessary documents for events including fact sheets, production schedules
Ensure event aspects are kept within budget
Work with Events team to provide continual improvements and efficiencies in the department’s events processes and procedures.
Work with building ops to coordinate set-up, costs, etc. for internal events.
Develop and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure event success
Conduct an extensive post-event analysis that provides clients with a full account of event and potential opportunities for improvement in the future.
Administrative duties (as assigned): answering phones, filing, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
4 -6 years experience in event planning or similar field
Bachelor’s in Business, Sports Management or related field
Knowledge of methods and process for doing research
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong time management skills
Strong creative skills
Ability to work within designated budget objectives
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience working in a corporate environment
Knowledge of sports & entertainment
